Affordable European tour 2020

Affordable European Tour

Affordable travel over 9 nights, where do you go and what do you want to see. Sometimes it easy to book a city holiday, one flight and one hotel and others may like to stay in the UK. The main thing is you want it to be affordable.

We on the other hand like to cram it as much as possible and to make it affordable but still have the luxury of our 5 star hotel on wheels with us, our Bailey Autograph motorhome.

Where did we go.

We covered 4 countries on our tour including France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. We love France and Belgium and all the small villages that we stopped in both on this tour and our last big tour last September 2019. Luxembourg and Switzerland are two new countries for us this year and as being so close together when driving down the east coast of France it then makes it easy to visit.

What did we do.

This time of year we normally go skiing in the French Alps, however this year we wanted to do something a little different but still wanted to touch on some snow. So last minute we decided to pack the motorhome up and head towards snow and see what happened along the way and where we end up. We visited the usual small villages, we drove up a mountain range and nearly got snowed in, we also visited a main city.

Full summary & Affordable costs

So in short what did we do and how much did it cost. This comes up a lot and more so on last years European Tour and with out spending a lot of money how far can you actually go.

Here is what we did and how far we went in 9 nights.

  1. 4 Countries covered. France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
  2. 9 stopovers
  3. 2 days skiing, Ski hire and lift passes
  4. All fuel
  5. Ferry crossing
  6. 1,258 Miles covered
  7. Aires & small parking cost
  8. Extras, like coffee out

All this cost us £494.01 after conversion back to pounds for a 9 night mini European tour of some lovely places plus a bit of skiing.

Now for us we believe we did this as cheap as we could by far and for under £500 or £250 each we did a lot and saw a lot with a few treats in between.
