Day 12 into our Europe trip and it’s time for a rest, a rest you might say. Yes a rest, when touring we are always on the move, checking out new places and moving on, the driving can take its toll. So it’s good to plan a rest break or as we like to call it another little holiday within the holiday.
Also its a great time to do some clothes washing, unfortunately this still needs to be done while away after all there’s only so many clothes you can fit in a motorhome.
Elaine has found us a lovely campsite and its only 17 miles up the road from Gibraltar so a lovely short day on the road. Camping Bella Vista, Manilva.
This campsite has an extensive range of facilities on site, you can just sit back and enjoy your time there. They have fully serviced pitches, outdoor pools, children’s play area, laundry and washroom facilities, waste disposal, a mini-market, restaurant and bar with outside terrace, chiringuito (pool bar in summer) and private beach. Best of all they are open all year round.

This site is also listed on Caravan and Motorhome Club and the Caravan and Camping websites, however if you do book though any of them unfortunately in our view you get a poor pitch as they are cheaper. For the better choice of pitches, go direct. We didn’t book as we did not plan to come here, we pulled in and asked if they have room and lucky for us they did, however this site can get busy and booked up so if you want to plan in advance I would suggest booking.
On arrival for us, we got set up on our pitch which is a good large area with hedgerows surrounding you. You have an area for the hook up, fresh water tap and a grey waste drain, perfect for staying put.
It’s great to pitch up and have a good sort out and just relax for the next 4 days with no driving, well that’s what I thought.
The following morning we decided to get the bikes out, after all there’s miles and miles of coastline to explore with plenty of cycle paths to use in the area.
The trouble about having good cycle routes is, you have to remember you have to turn around and get back, so try not to get carried away. Still 45 miles later in around 27°c warmth, its time to hit that pool and cool off
Day 14 and after our big ride out on the bikes we decided to have a real chill out day of doing absolute nothing apart from putting some laundry on in the morning and spending the rest of the day sat by the pool. Days like this are the best, relaxing and unwinding.
Day 15 we wanted to get the bus to Puerto Banus and walk around the marina, famous for some large boats, high end shops and super cars. It was a bit of a walk to the bus stop we wanted, but nothing like some good exercise and to warm the legs up again.
We have had a lovely 4 day stop over here and are now ready to move on a little further around the coast line.
